Had absolutely no intention of getting laid - I just wanted to have a good time and practice my approach.
Went with about 8 people to club #1 for my twentieth birthday. It was empty, but I was feeling alpha, so I got the girls to come dance with me out on the dance floor. About an hour later we realize it's not filling in (this place was DEAD - we were the only ones dancing), so I head over to club #2 with about half the group (because the other half wasn't 19 and club #2 always checks ID). I meet up with some of my buddies there, and everyone buys me a drink. Feeling good.
But, for whatever reason, I end up dancing with one HB friend and ALL my guy friends. Doesn't matter; I'm feeling the vibes and continue dancing like crazy, having fun, and smiling. I think, "this would go a lot better if we had some more women to dance with," so I look around for some prospects. Almost all the girls are already dancing close with guys. And the girls that aren't, well, I just can't catch their eyes. How the hell are you supposed to catch their eyes in a club without coming off like you're starring them down?
I remember reading something here, that the easiest thing to do is look over your shoulder and catch the gaze of the girl immediately behind you. The girl behind me, HB7, seems to be dancing very casually with a small group of friends. She's drifted a bit away from her friends and seems to be almost dancing alone. I catch her gaze for about a second and dance closer to her. When I get close she stops dancing and refuses to acknowledge me. I shrug it off and continue dancing with my friends, but feeling incredibly awkward. Still, I exude high energy the rest of the night. I'm a fairly high energy person, so it was no problem. But my confidence in approaching is shot, and I can't find any girls not dancing with guys (Beta excuse).
Anyway, we go home a while later, and my buddy sleeps on my floor.
