Okay, so this Saturday was Queen's Day in the Netherlands. I'll give you some background information:

I'm an Israeli living in the Netherlands, currently doing an exchange period in Brussels. When I was about to move out, an Israeli girl contacted me about the education I was following through Facebook (she nearly rented the house of friends of mine). We tried to meet up some time, but failed, so this Saturday was the first time I met her in person. On the night before, Queen's Night, I ask her whether she's got any couch for me or something for me to crash on - she lives in a city around 30 km from where I live, and the night before Queen's Night is simply madness in every large city. She didn't have a place, the other friend I was counting on last-minute flaked me, so I stayed in Amsterdam for that night (nothing wrong with that, either). Now, the next morning, I text the Israeli girl 'Hey, what's up? You awake yet? I'm coming to Utrecht."

She responds with a "Yes, I'm recovering. What time are you coming?"

"12:30, Utrecht CS"

"That's a bit too early for me, can we do it later?"

"I can stretch it until 13:30, but that's the latest. Meet me in front of the Starbucks. ;)"

"Okay. :)"

I somehow had luck with the trains and made it early. So I had time to walk around the Utrecht central station for a while, get money from the ATM, a map of the city especially for Queen's Day, etc. She arrives, and she's a pretty short HB 7.5. I hug her, first thing she asks me is "Don't you have anything orange on you?" (it's tradition in the Netherlands to wear orange stuff on Queen's Day). I don't, so she gives me her orange flower-necklace. We make some small talk, look at the map that I got, and we go and walk through the city.

I do some relatively light kino on her, occasional touches on the shoulder, but I get no response. She makes a bit of fun of my accent in Hebrew (left the country nearly 9 years ago), to which I respond with a dismissive shrug and a wave of the hand. At a certain point, we get to one of the big stages where they play live music. Now, she's taking pictures of everything like mad. So I basically grab her by the armpits, lift her up, and tell her "Go on, take the picture." She does and responds with "That stage is so cool!" "Well, don't know about you, but I could use a drink now." - seeing something she really likes, I think it's best if I decide where we're going to, rather than her. I decide to buy this round (made sure to tell her that we're doing rounds).

I teach her the way to toast that some of my Spanish classmates in Brussels taught me - ariba, avajo, pacentro, pa'entro, ah no! E no poya - no foya! or something like that, which means 'up, down, centre, enter, no knocking means no fucking!'

She seemed kind of unnerved by this and said "Let's just stick to 'cheers'". So we do that, drink, and we go to the area of the stage. I just look at the crowd - they're not dancing or anything, just standing there, so I tell her "Let's move on, these Dutchies don't know how to have fun." she agrees and we move on. We finish our drink, walk around, she then buys me a beer in the supermarket (it was Grolsch, which I haven't had in ages. <3 Grolsch). We walk around a lot, discuss lots of things, until we go and sit down on a bench in a rather busy park. All the time, I didn't really see any IOI's, even when I was talking about stuff girls love, such as how my dog (we both seem to be dog lovers) is really smart and some times when it's really cute (when you tell it to go to its place, it lowers down its ears and its eyes get huge, makes your heart melt).

In the end, it was time for me to meet other people in Amsterdam, so I went off, and felt "Damn, what the hell went wrong? Maybe I didn't build up enough attraction, didn't kino enough, something? I don't know." Or maybe she just wasn't interested in me for some reason. Well, then, moving on to the next girl - gotta remember to use the power of the next.

But yeah, second FR on Seddit, hope it wasn't too incomprehensible.
