Thank you to Seddit and the PUA community! The knowledge I've gained is truly inspiring. In the past 6 months, I...
- quit porn!
- quit computer games!
- got into great shape!
- joined a speech club!
- joined Assoicated Students!
- got a job! (this has been LIFE CHANGING - its forced me to talk with many people including hot girls)
However, I still come home to reddit, pickup material, and electronics in my single room. My weakness has always been friends.
My teenage years are filled with studying, computer games, and swimming (no talking but great body). I was antisocial and I deluded myself into thinking I didn't need friends when I'd just lose them later.
My parents:
- "In 20 years, you're going to completely forget these people"
- "The reality is you're not going to keep in touch with many people from college"
- "The girls you meet right now aren't going to be the one you marry"
While this stuff is probably true, they are incredibly LIMITING to the development of a young boy.
I have SOME people I hang out with sometimes, but I want to have a CLOSE circle of friends. I fear people won't want to hang out with me if they find out I actually don't have a circle of friends to do things with (some more social problems stem from this, like not knowing where parties are happening).
Any advice is appreciated. I don't know how to go about this. While I am depressed occasionally about this, I am overall optimistic with everything I have going on now. My 2nd year of college is almost over.
