I’m new to TRP and I’m struggling with knowing when common decency and manners is the correct or incorrect approach...

So, to put this in perspective, our class in college just graduated last Wednesday. We all know each other very well, the nature of our course meant that we’d be in the same room beside each other working and interacting and usually 7 days a week for about 5 consecutive years. Not to mention class trips etc. In short we all know each other pretty well. Kind of a brother/sister type bond by now. Or so we think...

Recently on a night out there were a few instances of where some guy with the wrong idea or who would just be too drunk would come up and basically creep the girls out. One of the girls, who I’m particularly close to as a friend was pretty drunk. She’s a pretty good looker and she’s also very friendly, sometimes too friendly. So on several occasions when the girls would be creeped out or when a guy was just a bit too pushy I would end up pulling them aside and asking these various guys to stop creeping the girls out and to f**k off. I’m a big guy, 6ft3 and broad along with it, so I guess I could get away with it. I did feel a bit like that wasn’t my job though, and that if I had hadn’t been there things may have had to have gotten a lot worse before one of the other guys, (who actually weren’t there with the girls at all) might have stepped in. I guess I just wanted to know if I did the right thing along trp lines and if not, what you guys who are better accustomed to trp principles may have done instead?
