So for the past few years I was suffering from some depression brought on by past events. Somehow I got to believing that I had many more problems than I actually had, the depression spiraled like that. It's all starting to change though. This summer specifically I have been highly motivated and searching for self improvement everywhere. I've been pretty successful too, and now that I've done a little work on the inside I figured it was time to practice my game.

I've got a date with a girl I met on OkCupid next week. This is where my question comes in. I'm barely 19 and she's 23. She just graduated from the same university that I'm about to start my second year at. Should be noted that she initiated the communication on OkC. Given the fact that we are relatively close in age but in supremely different life situations, i.e. her recent graduation, I am not quite confident in the chances of this going very far. Note: I'm not outcome dependent.

Am I correct in approaching this situation with all the seriousness of any set but realizing that it is very valuable practice and most likely nothing more? I feel like there is some ambiguity in where my actual question lies, so I'm going to try and simplify it a bit.

Is a date from OkC with a girl nearly four years my elder good practice?
