Sounds like you are giving too much of a fuck about 1 girl. Go out and talk to 50 women and you'll easily forget about this chick. From what you wrote she seems like a bitch anyway (not putting out or texting back) but if you commit yourself to being a better man and take tiny steps toward improvement you have 7 girls clambering for your attention and your dick! Fixing yourself is a long process that takes lots of practice and understanding why your brain is doing what it's doing.

Long story short I don't know how to let go of that caring.

This is all about your fears and insecurity. You need to be in control of everything, because your too afraid of losing it. Do more reading about Outcome Independence, Abundance Mentality, and other Inner Game stuff.

Just try to catch yourself whenever you're having these controlling thoughts, and say some mantras or something.
