Where do you live? Do you go to school? Where do you work? What music do you like?

These are known as job interview questions. Avoid them. She knows they're boring questions when she asks them. You will bore her with your response. She's trying to get you to qualify yourself to her. Don't do it. She's supposed to be qualifying herself to you. Cut to a different topic of conversation fast.

Yeah, those are horrible responses, and not funny at all. An honest answer about your musical preferences should suffice.

I always tell em I am into a little bit of everything or open to almost anything. Then I ask them the same question and try to get details not just general answers. The less you talk the less likely you are to put your foot in your mouth plus its good to keep them talking..

Well, my favorite band is (band). I went to one of their concerts once, and it was wild! (Thread into a crazy story about my friend getting into a fight, me backing him up, and us eventually making friends with the dudes who were fighting us).

Basically, change the subject to something relevent that leads to a DHV story.

Horrible, horrible responses. Say 'everything' so it includes music she likes then name a specific band she might like as well and tell her about how much you love them.
