I'm really into salsa dancing and I go out to salsa bars every week. Earlier this year, I met this girl (let's call her Susan) and I began talking to her as friends. She was cute but not that cute and it made absolutely no difference to me whether I hooked up with her or not. So over the next few months I was just friends with her and the only time we hung out were when we danced salsa (we didn't hang out otherwise nor did I ever invite her to anything).

However I noticed that gradually she began showing a lot of interest me whenever I saw her at this salsa bar. One day, I decided to ask her out and texted her. She said she was busy and that was fine by me. So nothing happened.

Another month or two passes and I randomly decided to hit her up again because I was bored (I usually keep myself busy but occasional downtimes do happen here and there). She again comes up with an excuse so I move on.

Several more months pass and we come to last night. I had a date planned with another girl but got flaked on so instead I went to this special salsa event that was going on that most of my salsa friends were going to. I go there and literally within seconds, Susan comes up to me and starts talking in a very flirty way (strong eye contact, laughing at pretty much whatever I say, etc) We chat a bit and then she asks me to dance with her. She gives me the puppy eyes and explicitly says that she really enjoys dancing with me.

We dance and then she goes right back to talking to me. I find out from her that this event ends at 11pm. Without thinking and just out of instinct I say "I might go grab some drinks afterwards, wanna join?" She agrees and then I excuse myself so I can go hang out with my other friends.

After the event ends, Susan and I go grab drinks. We're chatting and I notice a ton of IOIs

  • She continues to give me the puppy eyes

  • She continues to laugh at pretty much whatever I say

  • She responds well to my touch. As we're talking I'm slightly grazing my hand across her legs and she doesn't pull back or anything

  • She mentions that she finds my muscles impressive and starts touching my shoulders/upper back. She also says that she watches every lifting video I post on Instagram (I'm a competitive powerlifter so I have a decent amount of muscle on my frame. I also occasionally post videos of me lifting because a 400lb squat or 300lb bench press just looks plain cool)

After a while we go to another bar and this time I put my arm around her shoulders. No objections, she's still laughing and talking a lot. She eventually starts stroking my hand while it's over her shoulders, another great sign. I go in for the kiss and that's when things to start to become weird.

I kiss her but she doesn't kiss me back. Our lips touched but she made 0 effort to kiss me back. She didn't try to give me the cheek or anything and even after I pulled back, her demeanor didn't change at all. She continued to talk/laugh/stroke my hand. About 20 minutes later I go into kiss her again and the same thing happens. At this point I'm really confused as I had never seen a girl act this way. In my experience, girls will either kiss me back, give me the cheek, or verbally say something if she didn't want to kiss. Not this girl though

We leave the bar to go home and her demeanor is still very normal. I try to hold her hand and this time she pulls her hand away. We both pretend that didn't happen and continue talking. We get into my car (I'm sober btw, just had 2 beers since I knew I had to drive) and I drove her home. When we get to her place, she almost immediately gets out after saying goodbye. I had no chance to try another kiss and even if I did, I was unsure of whether I should because she pulled her hand away earlier when I tried to hold it.

What are your thoughts? I honestly don't care things didn't work out but I'm making this post because I have never seen a girl act this way and learning more about this situation from a TRP perspective could be useful knowledge.
