Hey Seddit. I've apparently forgotten how to talk to girls. Lately I find myself feeling totally out of place wherever I am, be it at a party, a bar, any sort of social event, really. I've never had these problems before; perhaps my last girlfriend beat me down a bit mentally and I am still dealing with the effects.

In any event, tonight was the tipping point for me, when I finally decided that I have to reach out and ask for help with my problem. I was at a party, and three girls I didn't know kept trying to make eye contact with me all night, always walking by me, etc...They kept to themselves all night, and when I finally got the chance to break away from my buddy who was talking my ear off, I headed straight over to the three girls, who were talking in a corner. I could tell they were happy I came over, and were all really interested in what I had to say...I mean, in my mind, I knew that all of these girls thought I was good looking, they all were single and wanted a boyfriend (or whatever), and I have enough confidence to know that I'm a great guy and would be good for any one of them.

So I went over to them, said hi and introduced myself, and then.....nothing. I had nothing to say! I seriously had nothing to talk to these girls about, and really, I feel that way about everyone lately. This is becoming a huge problem in my life...How can I fix this? What do you guys talk about on a cold open? If you go off the cuff and wing it, what in your mind prompts you as to where to take the conversation next?

With guys I can usually get away with talking about sports, and at times current events can be good fodder for casual acquaintances. But none of that has any substance, or is really personal. Does anyone have any advice on how I can be more sharp and interesting in social situations?
