Guys. I just want to verify for anyone doubting, that MINDSET is everything. Up until two days ago, I was AFC all the way. I was actively using Okcupid (not a bad thing if your mindset is right, but mine wasn't) and avoiding dates like the plague due to self induced social awkwardness and extremely high standards. I learned a lot just from reading all the beginning posts (SO DO IT IF YOU'RE NEW, YOUR LIFE WILL CHANGE). After developing the mindset necessary, and constantly affirming that I was a badass, a girl I had dated a few times awhile back called up and asked to have drinks with me. She had "dumped" me from her dating list because I was too nice. I've got a date scheduled with her for Monday after work. Original topic [1] here. Incidentally, I read Tofu's OKCupid thread on [2] /r/OkCupid and learned a few things about how to message correctly. A girl I had chatted with on okcupid for awhile a couple months ago that disabled her account midconversation renewed her account today. I saw that she had looked at my profile, so I sent her a short, casual message: "How's it going? What brings you back to Okcupid?" After 5 minutes I got a long response apologizing for disabling mid conversation and we got to talking. I have a date with her too the weekend after this one (only time that fit unfortunately). I'll make due. I'll be able to gauge more out on her when I meet her, but based on our preliminary conversations, I estimate that I'll be able to f-close her in 2 weeks tops. I'll probably consider an LTR with her, dependent on many things, of course. I say it mostly because it's a consideration in my mind. If LTR doesn't work out - it's NOT going to bug me, thanks to you guys. I now have the tools to work a whole room (I really could do it before i found seddit, I just lacked the confidence. I am already a social butterfly and I love talking with new people, it's just the relationship stuff that got me into a little hizzy and undermined me.) Thanks so much for this subreddit existing. I knew about it along time ago but figured it was more about general seduction and not about game or anything like that. I am in debt to you guys, and when I hone my skills a bit further, I'll pay it forward by helping out some chumps who don't know what's going on.. because honestly, happiness is companionship in ANY form, and when you're lonely.. it just sucks.
