Background: I work as a musician in a covers band, and generally try pickup when I'm working. I'm behind the drums but have a microphone, so I can interact with the crowd, then between brackets (about 15 mins) I'll get a chance to chat with girls, grab numbers and set something up later.

The Set: A couple of girls were dancing up the front near the stage, lets call them Blonde (HB8), Brown and Dreadlock. Blonde was alright, the other two meh. Got some good eye contact going with all three of them, I generally like to smile a lot when playing and show the world I'm having fun and giving off a very positive vibe. Anyway they reacted and started interacting with me, smiling back and forth, they started talking to me but I couldn't hear a word they said, but I still sorta played along, emphasising the fact I'm having a fun time.

There was actually another set (German backpacker) I was interested in and was dancing/chatting with her for most of the fist bracket and start of the second bracket. Just before I was gonna go back on stage for the third bracket I saw Blonde. I quickly went up to her and got her number, can't remember exactly what I said but it was done in like 30 seconds. Takeaway point: I approached her "knowing" I would get her number, as though it wasn't possible for her not to give it to me, and that I gave off that vibe

Got the Number, Arranging To Bounce: After the first song I had a chance to text her, I generally try to text within 5-10 mins of getting a number (something I picked up off Seddit). Note: Last bracket of music went from ~11:20pm to Midnight, and at this pub they kick everyone out at Midnight.

Me 11:32pm "So I just me this kinda cute girl at the gig in [Town]..."

Her 11:33 "I met this hot guy at [Town] :P"

Alright at this stage I think I'm in like flynn. At ~11:40 her friend Dreadlock comes up to me and says that I've "made her friend (i.e. Blonde) really happy" and that they're going to this club after the gig, asking me to come along. I tell her that Blonde needs to ask me herself, with a mischevious grin (I'm doing this to gain a bit of compliance from Blonde) Dreadlock goes to get Blonde who comes back and asks me, I tell her to text me the address which she does (FYI I'm still on stage playing at this point). We finish playing, they kick everyone out. I start packing up my gear.

Her 12:04am "Come to [club] and bring singer"

Me 12:11 "I knew it! You're just using me to get with the singer... ;)"

Her 12:13 "No my best friend wants the singer i want you"

Me 12:22 "Well your friends outta luck...my mates got a gf"

Her 12:24 "You comin?"

Me 12:31 "Yeh might do. Someones gotta put these drums away ..."

Her 12:42, just as I rock up outside the club "You comin?"

The Club:

Inside the club I spot Dreadlock, who is excited to see me and points out where Blonde and friends are. I waste no time going up to Blonde, put my arm round her and go in for the kiss, she responds very positively. We spend the next 20 minutes or so grinding on each other and making out, every now and again I pull away, even went and talked to German Backpacker and some other people I met from before at the pub. A couple of guys try to grind on Blonde but she pushes them away. She seems to really enjoy grinding on me, and I'm thinking this is a sure thing, if I can work out the logistics.

She says she's going outside with her friends for a smoke, I don't smoke so I stay in club. About 5 minutes later I get this:

Her 1:10am "Sorry bye :P"

Her 1:24am "Havd [sic] fun"

I don't text back 'til about 11am the next day. I found out later that her ride (I presume one of her friends) was leaving then, so she went with them.

Analysis:

Overall I'm pretty happy with how this set went, particularly compared to how my AFC self would've gone about 4 months ago, before discovering Seddit. However points I feel need to improve:

1) My text to her at 12:31am. Lacking punch? I dunno...

2) Logistics at the Clubs. Ideally I would have liked this to be an SNL, and I think it could have happened, if I had the logistics sorted. When she was grinding me I could tell she wanted me bad, at one point I got a semi-chub and I know she could feel it and kept grinding me more. How do I get her from the club, where her friends are at, to a place where sexytime could happen? I don't know the area well (my house is an hour away), my car is parked across the street from the club...maybe I should have parked it in a secluded alleyway? So methinks, grabbing her hand and leading her out of the club (where her friends were), would be the way to make that happen. I'm not a club person, would this approach work?

3) Should I have gone with them for a smoke? It would have been an opportune time to isolate, i.e. her friends are going but she wants to stay, no worries I'll give you a lift home (would she/her friends go for this? I'm a guy she just met). But if I follow them outside and I don't smoke would this mean I lose the dominant frame?

TL;DR Got the number, bounced, K closed, grinded. Could have had sexytimes if logistics was sorted. Clubs, how do they work?
