I asked a girl I know to hang out a few times and she was always canceling. This time, she agreed to coffee with me. She wanted me to pick her up at her place, which was no big deal. She lives about thirty minutes away from me and only really has a bike. When I get there, I text her and she comes out all nicely done up in makeup. This is the first time I had seen her done up so nicely. I commented how nice she looked and she giggled and thanked me.

We get to the coffee shop and order some coffee. We go to the back of the shop and sit at a table, only I sit close enough to touch her. I start putting my leg against hers while she is talking and at first she isn't too receptive. With some time, however, she seems receptive about it. We finish our coffee and I suggest we take a walk around the nearby university. (We both attend school there.)

As we're walking, she confesses several things. One of which is that she thinks I have a healthy opinion on sex. Another is that she wants to start dating a guy. (She only recently really started dating, and shes seeing a friend of hers. Lets call her V.) Now, its important to point out that she was really into me a few months ago and I didn't do anything about it. She went to V, and they hooked up.

As we're walking around, we stop to rest at a bench and a dog comes up. I start petting the dog and we talk to the owner for a few minutes before he leaves. I confess I really like dogs, and she says she can tell. Shes more of a cat person. After a bit, she gets thirsty and we head over to a building at the Uni for some water, but the doors locked. I said we should head to the library because it should be open, but it wasn't. Just as we were going to leave the front of the library, I turned to her and said "put your hand up." She complied, I said "let me see it," and grabbed her hand. I then said "do a twirl" and twirled her. I dropped her hand and said "very nice." I started walking away and she followed me saying "You just twirled me!" I think she got a kick out of it. It's important to note I did not do much if any kino between the coffee shop and this point.

We went to some nearby trees to lie down for a bit. There were no clouds in the sky, and I mentioned that saying too bad we couldn't look for goofy stuff in the clouds. She replied by saying "Yeah, this one looks like a dick, this one looks like a vagina (laughs)." I said "we could look at the trees and find familiar shapes like... pubes." She laughed at that. We were lying there for a bit talking and throwing bits of grass at each other. Suddenly I got up and started playing with my phone and said "Dance with me." She got a surprised tone and said "what?" I had some Alanis Morissette on my phone and turned on one of the slower songs. She was protesting with a smile while I took both of her arms and pulled her upright. I was about to start dancing with her when she pulled away and said she only dances with Van, and she was going to tell Van I tried to seduce her. She was smiling and half laughing while she said this, so I just replied "ok." with a grin on my face.

She mentions she's thirsty, so I say why not get some lunch. She agrees to mcdonalds and we are walking over to where I parked my car at the coffee shop. Now, we had to cross a big road with a moderate amount of traffic and before we got to a cross walk I said we should cross where we were. She protested, but I took her hand. It was in a fist if that matters? When the last car drove by I said "Go!" and started running with her behind me yelling "I'M GONNA DIE!" The road had a grassy separator in the center, and when we got there, I dropped her hand. She said lets walk across the rest of the street. We did and headed towards my car.

As we were walking, I started getting a little more handsy and she noticed this. I mentioned it was just the way I was. She asked me if I hold hands with my friends. I just replied no. (Should've said something better?) Somewhere around this point I mentioned it was a good thing we weren't dating because "I would have dumped your ass earlier." (Said that with a grin) She asked why and I reminded her of all the times she cancelled on me. She said she tries a lot harder for people shes dating.

We get to mcdonalds and order our food. We initially sit at a table where we are across from each other (I know, bad.) A bit later, I have us move to a nearby table where we sit right next to each other. The seats weren't as comfortable and she was fidgeting a lot. (Bad sign right?) I touched my leg to hers while she was talking and I slowly moved my hand over to her leg until it was all the way on it. I started caressing her thigh and she put her hand down on mine and played with the skin/rubbed it. I kept going deeper down her leg until I hit her crotch and she got a surprised look on her face. (Still grinning by the way.) She moved my hand and lightly slapped me. I kept rubbing her leg, seeing where I could go and she grabbed my hand when I went too far again. She said "If you don't stop I'm going to break your knuckles!" (she said that grinning/laughing. Also, She could do it too.) She mentioned I was pawing at her like a horny teenager and I was so into her. I said "Maybe I lost interest." and turned so my right shoulder was facing her. I smiled the whole time and listened to what she had to say, while looking away at a TV every now and then. She started to play with my hands again while she was talking and after a little bit of that, I took her hand and caressed it. She started to withdraw it after a little bit so I let her hand go and lightly tossed it away. She looked and me and said "You threw away my hand! V would never do that!" She started playing with my hand again and I started up on her leg again a little bit afterwards.

At some point she asked me how many women I had been with and I replied "I get my share." (Was this bad?) She started to talk a lot about V at this point and comparing me to her. She talked about how I didn't have my own place and I replied "neither do you." (Should I have a better response here?) She mentioned I probably didn't even know how to please a woman. I just kept smiling and shook my head. She even mentioned V always listened to her, and I didn't. She called me a butt. I just smiled. She asked me why she should choose me over V. I stated she would choose me because I'm not safe. I have options. (Was this bad?) I also told her I was bad for her. That at some point when she is taking her last semester, and wondering if she should even finish school, I would tell her to just go party. She smiled at that. At this point, she started complaining about missing V. I didn't have anything to say to that, so I kept pretty silent while massaging her leg. I tried to get her to come with me to a park a little down the road, but she said she wanted to go home. After trying a bunch more times to move again, and her saying she wanted to go home a few times, I finally said okay. As we were leaving the dining room, she came up beside me and put her arm around me. I put my arm around her. We decoupled to go through the door and walked separately to my car. I turned around and said "Put your hands up." She stuck them straight into the air. I walked over to her and put her arms on my shoulders and embraced her. I went in for a kiss but she spun us around and turned her head so I got cheek. I asked her why she turned her head, and she replied "Only people I date can kiss me on the mouth. Friends get the cheek." I laugh at that and we get in the car.

I put on some music (Bad Romance cover by Halestorm. I thought it was appropriate.) I spun the tires while leaving the parking lot and she yelped at that. She had a grin on her face while she told me she was nervous in cars. I said that was good to know. At a stoplight where we had to turn left, I grabbed her hand and she squeezed mine hard. The light turned green and I gunned it out of the turn. She was screaming "OMG SAGGYCHEEKS SLOW DOWN! I HOPE YOU GET A TICKET!" she had a smile on her face while saying that as well. I started slowing down and she punched my arm calling me an asshole. I just looked at her and grinned. I had spun the tires one last time making a turn and drove normally until we got to her house. On the last turn I made it seem like I was going to do it again, but didn't. We got in front of her place and she couldn't get the door open. (I have an alarm that locks the doors when the vehicle is started.) I kept telling her to come over to me. After about the third time, she said okay and leaned across the center console, face up with her eyes closed. When she opened her eyes, she saw me looking down on her with a grin. She said "OMG!" and unlocked the door and left. She stood on the sidewalk waving at me, and I gave her a thumbs up before I left.

I texted her the next day saying "how about an official date?" but have yet to receive a response. I actually do like her, but I feel like I am competing with V and losing. She describes V as a princess and likes V because V gives her all sorts of attention. The girl describes herself as clingy and doesn't want to "cheat" on V even though she says the relationship is casual.

So, I think I learned a lot, but I can't shake the feeling that I completely blew it. What do you guys think?
