Did I blow it guys? She just got out of a bad relationship, I'm the friend zoned "awesome guy friend". HELP!

"Me and this girl have been friends for a few years" - once you've been friends with someone for that long it's hard for anything to develop.

"I have been talking to her and trying to aid in getting her mind off of it, relating my experience in past relationships to help her." - sounds like an average night from my AFC days

Sounds harsh but I don't think you blew it, rather you never had a chance in the first place. Did you do the right thing by not going that far? Depends on if you want to keep the friendship. If you're happy just staying friends with her then congrats, you didn't ruin the friendship because you didn't go in for the kiss.

That you acknowledge that you're "the friend zoned awesome guy friend" shows that 1- you're attracted to her and 2- you know she doesn't feel that way about you. I'd say move on, try to meet other people. You might think you had a "moment" with her last week but women, especially post-breakup, can be extremely fickle.

Again I know it sounds harsh but your story sounds very much like most of the stories from my AFC days so I just hope it doesn't take a turn for the worse for you.

Ninja edit: You are not an awesome guy friend. You are a guy who befriended a girl with ulterior motives for years. IMO that's incredibly dishonest. She should be able to trust her friends.
