I was walking around for a couple of hours and hadn't approached anyone for the night. A storm had started to come in so I had decided to make my way to my car. However I didn't want to actually leave until I made at least one approach. So on my way up there were two girls (both about an HB7) I decided to do a normal approach (compared to my past nights). I opened with a simple question, "Do you know where this restaurant is?" They gave me directions and I left.

I felt disappointed I didn't take it anywhere or try to escalate. However as I started walking up the street both if them ran up to me and said "We're actually walking up that way, why don't we show you where it is?" Obviously I obliged and we walked. I thought things were looking good, I mean they could have just let me go on my way, right?

I tried to make some small talk on the way, It sort of worked. I think It was more awkward for me than it was for them, mostly because they were talking among themselves on the walk (it was a three block walk). We got the the restaurant and before they parted I said "Wait, before you guys leave, you seem pretty cool. Mind if I take your numbers down?" They both looked at each other a little confused. They said they just graduated college recently and probably weren't going to be in a the area much longer. Obviously I didn't get their numbers. Personally I think that was a poor excuse to not give me their numbers, but it retrospect I could have also asked differently and I might have gotten a different result. It doesn't matter to me if I got numbers or not anyway, I'm not doing these for the numbers yet, I'm doing it for myself.
