I usually lose people when it's after I've meet them etc. but let me be more specific here.

I just got back from vacation at a hotel and I meet a girl and everything was great. When I'm in person I'm pretty confident and we got some good conversation going on (If you need to know we started talking because of one of those tacky hotel games we both signed up for, joked around a little bit, got to know each other a little bit, and hung out the rest of the time even got confortable enough for some touchy stuff in the pool [non-sexual]). However everything breaks down when it gets down to text. I was just never good at it. I find it to be too weird and tacky I guess.

She lives not too far away from me but I'm leaving soon for a month and I just want to keep in touch and keep everything interesting. What do I do to improve?

EDIT: I doubt this is important but I'm trying to build a relationship. I don't believe in premarital stuff. Don't want to talk about this part just a note.
