Dude the problem seems to be your lack of confidence. Just think of yourself as a the same hot dude. You care to much what others think. Where is that confidence boost that other girl gave you? Assume attraction! Women want you but won't show it!

I wish I could help you, but I too know this feeling, and minus the reconstructive surgery, your life sounds eerily similar to mine.

The only advice I've been given is "You attract those sorts of people because you're more confident around them. You're not thinking in terms of dating, so your true self comes out a little more and that's what's attractive." I never thought myself to act any different around women I was interested in, but it makes a lot of sense really.
