Seriously, just do that. She'll either smile and thank you or be completely cold, but in either case persist and just ask her if she's a student or doing work or randomly surfing the internet. If she gives a one-word answer, keep going anyway. Talk about the country and how you're a tourist from out of town. The first two minutes or so, you really need to lead the conversation. Persist and don't bail out pre-maturely. Good luck!
