I've seen quite a few articles on here about how to stop feeling like you are inferior to hot women, but my problems stem from the opposite it seems. I feel like I cannot compete with other guys, in both the looks department as well as mentally, i.e. I'm not witty.

In regard to the looks issue, I've been struggling with how my face looks for quite a while now. I do workout quite often, eat healthy, try to dress nice, style my hair, etc, but I still am very insecure about how my facial structure/dark circles under my eyes. I recently went to AmIUgly to get others' opinions, where I was told I was average for the most part. I still can't get past feeling though that most other guys have a huge advantage over me, as I see so many other guys get looks from women, but I do not get any.

Also I struggle with being witty and thinking on my feet once I interact with women. I don't mind initiating the contact, but once I do that, I cannot think of anything good to say that could build attraction. My friends and coworkers always have something funny to say, and though I might have a funny line or two and might be able to tease a little, I still feel like other guys have a huge natural advantage over me in that regard as well.

Is there any way of defeating this mentality? I really have spent almost a year trying to get myself in shape and build my confidence up, but it still seems I am so far behind the curve. I really want to be the type of guy who is attractive to women, as this is the only aspect of my life at the moment that is bringing my down. TL;DR: Feel like I am both less physically attractive and less witty/intelligent than other guys to compete. Looking for advice on how to get rid of this mentality.
