Whats the difference between love, one-itis, a crush and infatuation?

Oneitis is very damaging. You become obsessive and are basically living your life for another person who doesn't want to live her life with you and never will want to.

I'd put crush and infatuation into basically the same category, with only some minor, largely irrelevant distinctions. A crush is basically when you get all giddy and excited by a girl. The difference between a crush and a oneitis is that you know that next month you might be crushing on someone else. I think you should indulge crushes when you get them -- I don't meant indulge the girl you're crushing on, I mean don't fight the feeling, go with it. Let yourself be excited. But also make a move for fuck's sake!

Seriously though, and this is a fast and dirty definition, love is something like a mutual oneitis. The girl is a central part of your life, but she feels the same way about you. Nothing wrong with that.

Labels like this are all pretty much bullshit. What really matters is if you are needy.

When you can appreciate someone not because you need anything from them, but just enjoy their company, you'll be ready for love.
