Hopefully this type of question belongs here, if not, feel free to let me know.

Over the past few months, I feel that I have gotten over approach anxiety for the most part. I've become better at random banter with girls, and also focus on self-amusement/just having fun. This has been working well for the most part and has gotten a few numbers. But then the next issue comes into play.

Once I realize I actually stand a chance with the girl and am able to get a number, the anxiety comes full force. Even to the point where I flake and don't call the numbers back. I think the difference is while just approaching, I don't really have anything to lose, so I can just have fun. Once I'm having a bit of success, it then hits me that I actually have something to lose, and I get all nervous and boring.

Is this a common thing for people in this community? Any strategies for overcoming this?

Thanks.
