Are there any sedditors that succeeded in doing well where the odds are stacked against you?... all the time?

I know the usual response is to sort it out with your inner game and just keep on plowing through but honestly that's what I've been doing. For the past year, I've been improving in all aspects in my life (fitness, studies, social) and I FELT confident overall. I've been going out 3 nights a week working on my game but progress has been slow.

However after a year of failed approaches and missing opportunities, my confidence is starting to chip away. I'm starting to realize that no matter what, being a guy that is short and a minority in a predominately white crowd [I'm in greek life in a state uni], I'm not going to get a lot of hits. As a beginner who has very limited experience, it's hard. Sometimes i think to myself "man some validation can go a long way at this point.."

I look at many top instructors and role models and interestingly, they don't have that same issue. You would say tyler from RSD had his shortcomings to overcome (5'9, ginger) but that pales in comparison with a 5'7 asian trying to overcome odds in attracting young college white girls.

The trouble is now i'm getting more and more AA. From the conditioning of my lack of success, i hesitate now and i don't act when i see clear opportunities.

Frustration ramble ends

So i thought of some solutions and i plan to try it out the next weekend i go out. A problem for me when i go out to these college bars is when i go with a group a friends, they immediately go to the bar and just talk amongst themselves. i get shelved into that and not really talk to the girls in the bar until the bar gets packed to the point you're bumping into people (which is 2 hrs before closing)... which is too late i think.

I'm thinking i should ignore my friends and immediately go try interacting with some people and go solo. But it's damn intimidating when everyone else are ALSO doing the same thing.
