I think that you should try to appreciate that the gap between acquaintances and the friendzone is fucking huge. Relationships are highly dynamic in the early phase, and it won't matter if you had normal conversations with a person as long as you were playful.

Short answer, no, you don't.

Long answer..... as long as you escalate (non-verbally or verbally), you can make your interest known, at almost any stage. (Provided that there aren't mitigating circumstances like her having a BF, or something obvious like that.)

There is no clear cut answer to how you can stay out of the friendzone. I've been friend-zoned and broken out of it years or months after. There is no formula here..... It's not like you will be screwed out of a chance if you don't set it up right in the very beginning.

Of course, if you're trying to game a friend, that's a whole other ball of wax.....(See: long game.) but I've answered your question: You can get as close as you want. You can even become friends and still break out of it later.

I think you're reading into it too much. Attraction doesn't have an expiry date for everyone. Either you have chemistry, or you don't.

I mean, what you're doing is great, if you wanna get laid. If that's the case, carry on. If that isn't what you're looking for, if you want a gf, you can't trick her with timing. Also, I know it's a scary concept, and heaven forbid, maybe you'll be lucky enough to find a woman who can get close to you, NOT INSERT HERSELF INTO YOUR LIFE, and still has the ability to be a trusted friend. There are women who are capable of this.
