Sup seddit just an FR while I'm on break at work. Ive known this girl since HS and we're pretty good friends. She's pretty laid back and shy at times but generally a good girl. I went with her and four other girls to an Os game and had a great time. From there we texted sporadically. Didn't want to seem thirsty/more focused on finding a big person job (got laid off).
About a two weeks ago on her Facebook she expressed her interest in watching Django Unchained. As any red blooded male the chance to watch a Tarantino flick with a girl would be a great night so I told her to rent it and come watch it on my big tv. Nothing really happened that night, aside from incidental kino. I really wanted to see the movie. We both had a good time and that was that.
Last week I scored free tickets to the national aquarium through the public radio station I volunteer at and took her as my date. We got in for free and some ppl knew my name which gave me social proof, and since we had name tags I gave her a fake name, something silly but fun.
I felt like I was screwing up at the aquarium. No kino/escalation of the sort, and she was being really quiet. I did most of the talking which rattled me but I kept heart.
After the aquarium I took her to a restaurant in a part of the city she'd never been and we ate. When the check came I used a line that I've had success with before:
"Hey so I'll make you a deal. If I pay for this its a date. If we split the check I'll talk you out to dinner next week."
Though a little embarrassing she ended up paying but I got the tip. She still took it as a date, so no harm no foul.
A couple days ago I hung out with her and watched Breaking Bad via Netflix. Threw in some kino and escalation, k-closed that night, and k-closed again this past Saturday when she invited me to a friends house for beer/bonfire.
Feeling a little unsure I texted a mutual friend of ours and got confirmation she was interested. I should have assumed attraction but cest la vie.
Taking her out to dinner on Thursday, water front restaurant.
Key takeaways: - stay frosty. Shes an introvert / quiet type. Just because she wasn't bouncing off the walls didn't mean she did not have a good time. Stay cool, even if you're feeling flustered.
kino/escalation is key! I messed up a little but since we've been friends for a while that came in handy.
nothings "by the book". Meaning, there's no concrete formula for a winning date/ good night. Be spontaneous, but having a plan is never bad. Her picking up the tab was a little shaky but she was a good sport about it.
Any tips/advice or things I could improve on? Thanks for reading!
there doesn't seem to be anything here
