Sounds like you already have a good plan for self-improvement with stand up, Arabic, BJJ ect. I would recommend taking Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Its fun, a great stress relieve, and I've met great friends.

Just give it time, you're almost 21 and have some pretty solid plans put in place to do some kick ass stuff. I can't stress enough how important traveling outside one's own comfort zone/country is to younger people. You already have three solid goals that need to be focused upon: finishing school, putting together a trip to the middle east and learning Arabic.

Life in our own minds is hard to quantify but you've already quantified most of your goals such as higher GPA for the next year, being in better shape, spending less time on reddit, etc.. just set the goals and do them. If you settle for mediocrity that's exactly what you'll have. When I finished my first degree I went and traveled around the world, confidence was extremely high, then I ran out of money and had to return home and work. I worked retail since my degree didn't do shit for me and it was fun to interact with people but after 2 years or so I needed more. Went back to school for a few years, scienced my brain out and got a sweet job. Confidence was still high. However, I'm now back into that mediocratic rut as I've learned all I can from this job, money is great for around here, I started renovating my entire house but I'm still bored, stems from the job undoubtedly and the woman I broke up with a few months back. So I feel like I'm right there with you.

My buddy teaches Jiu Jitsu and I've had some free lessons at his gym but to train there on a daily/weekly basis it definitely costs some loot so I don't do it. I run a lot, road and mountain bike, while the bikes are not free you can easily get into it. However, you won't meet anyone unless you do group runs/rides which is definitely a plus for Jiu Jitsu or yoga. Try to find a place that perhaps you could help clean or use one of your skills in trade, that way you're not paying anything or nearly as much. I did years of yoga in trade for doing graphic design for the owner.

My advice, set those personal goals that you want, don't set unattainable goals, start small and work your way up. Focus on yourself and those goals and the rest will fall into place. Difficult? Most definitely. Impossible? Not even close.

The key is focus. You don't need to be doing 20 things to be an interesting person. You need to have one or two hobbies, and work. Don't look for free/cheap hobbies, look for a hobby you will love, and find a way to make it work.

Don't accept mediocrity in your life. Do everything to stand out, but don't lose yourself as a person. Read a book called "The Power of Now" by Eckhart Tolle.

Don't accept that your degree offers few job prospects - just work on what you can do to find a job.

You don't need quantifiable goals, you need to get out of the house each day and do a new thing. Start frequenting your nearest coffee shop. Go every day for an hour or two, or at least twice or three times a week. Soon you'll start to get to know the baristas, start seeing familiar faces who also go a lot. Before you know it, you're more socially comfortable & have a little hub for you to integrate yourself back into society a bit better.

Spending less time on Reddit just involves closing the tab. Not later, not after you've learned x, not after you've finished the post, not after it stops being funny, but right damn now. And now, every single time. Seriously, finish this post, shut down your computer, make yourself look as presentable as you can, and step outside. Decide where you're going after you're already outside.

Grades and dates are just focus. You're not focusing on those things, you're focusing on staying home. Is your roommate your best friend because you don't leave the house a lot? Also, say yes to every social thing you get invited to. Even if you think you won't like it or if you think you won't like the people. Your new job in your life is to say "Yes, and" rather than "no" or "yes, but"

My advice is to go out and take walks, talk to people, and find something you can do on a weekly basis that is active and involves people. Yoga is amazing. Lots of girls, you can get in shape and flexible, and you will feel better about yourself.
