First FR disclaimer

Last Friday I was at a small bar close to my apartment with a few dudes not doing much of anything. Just unwinding, hanging out, and generally having a good time. Not actively looking for girls tonight.

A few brews into the night, I notice this girl (HB 7) in a group of two others (one guy, one girl (HB 7), potentially dating) looking at me. Contrary to the seddit creed of approaching quickly, I decided not to approach and see if I noticed her looking at me again in a bit. Sure enough, I catch her again 30 minutes later. This time I take the hint and approach the group with a simple "Hey, I'm ... you all looked like you were having fun, thought I'd join in!" which worked well as they were about to do a shot it turned out. I initially talked with her for a bit, then her friend. I worked the group for a bit and as things started dying down I asked if she wanted to come back to my place and she agreed. I took her hand, waved goodbye to my friends, and twenty minutes later we were having a bit more fun.

Overall, it was mostly just a good/lucky read on my part, nothing earth shattering. However, I think working the group is what really won her over. If I had just talked to her when I approached the group, I have a feeling they would have tried to shut me out but partially because I won them over too it all turned out well.

I was also really glad with how this turned out because I wasn't actively looking for anything at the beginning of the night. Opportunities can arise any time and it's best to be always ready rather than only when you're out looking.
