I am travelling for 2 days 1 night with a group that includes a girl I am interested in. The first day, I have not been acting very well. I consciously tried too hard to gather attention and obtain value (which of course produced the opposite effect). This was partly due to the fact that there is another guy who is naturally very "alpha" (high value due to being captain, good looking/well built, very relaxed, low+slow+firm tonality). In fact, I have noticed some possible signs that the girl is attracted to the guy.

I am usually good at being similarly "alpha", but his presence messed with my head and made me focus too much on all the PU material in order counter it. While staying up overnight, I realized what I was doing and am now thinking about how to salvage the situation.

Let's assume that from the moment people wake up to around 2 pm when we each go home, I get my act together. Would it be possible for the girl to change her opinion of me within this period of time? (I am planning to ask her out sometime in that period, since I have no other opportunity)

Also, how can I direct my interactions with the guy in order to "obtain higher value" than him? (note that we are good friends and have mutual respect for each other) For example, what should I do if he is talking and has command of everyone's attention?
