Fuck. I just typed up a decent length post and then I fucking lost it. I really don't wanna type it all again so I'm just gonna do bullet points.

Pros:

  • I saw her profile on OKC and it said "I'm a terrible planner." My first message was "I'm a terrible planner too. We should hang out." Got the number and set up a date. Simple.

  • I originally invited her to see me do stand up, but I double booked the date assuming one wouldn't make it. When I realized both girls were planning on coming, I told her the situation and she was incredibly cool. Said she didn't want to be a cockblock and we re-scheduled. Lesson: It was good being [honest]http://redd.it/1k2hru) with her. I set up a strong frame of dating and being up front.

  • I offered to pick her up on my scooter. I saw a picture of her on a scooter in Thailand and it was a no-brainer. Lesson: Pay attention to details. Work them to your advantage.

  • As soon as I met her, I gave her a kiss on the cheek. Set the sexual frame immediately.

  • During the baseball game, she asked me if I'd read any PUA books and if picking her up on the scooter was my clever way of breaking the "touch barrier". I honestly answered I'd never read a PUA book but I agreed with the idea of breaking the touch barrier, though that wasn't my ulterior motive for picking her up. Just good logistics.

  • I kino'd throughout the game. She was cold at first, but she warmed up to it and even started initiating kino with me. Early on she'd actually push my hands away from her, but I didn't let on and kept the kino really light and incidental. Lesson: Calibrate. If kino seems unnatural, don't give up. Just keep it low key.

  • She admitted she really liked the idea of going on a date to a baseball game. She hates dinner dates because you just "sit there and look at somebody" and it can be hard to build and chemistry. It also puts pressure on people to interact with each other. Going to a game gave her something to do to enjoy herself on her own terms. She played softball in high school (I didn't know when I set up the date) so she was into it and knew her shit. Lesson: Dinner dates are rookie. They only worse date is a coffee date. Fuck that shit. Go do something fun.

Cons:

  • As much as we all like to brag about F-closes, I was not on my game at all tonight. Her early resistance to kino did kind of put me off it. She even asked me if my family was very "touch-y feel-y".

  • I asked to use her bathroom and spent a couple minutes chatting in her apartment, but we both had work early in the morning so I excused myself and gave her a goodbye hug.

  • She's got friends leaving soon, so she's going to be spending the next couple days with them. Next week is my vacation so I'll be out of town. I left her place with a super open "Let's meet again sometime." Pretty weak.

Just goes to show you that no matter how much experience you have, sometimes shit doesn't always go perfectly. I wouldn't call the date a total wash. She seems real chill and I think a second date will happen eventually. I'm a little disappointed that her early reaction to my kino put me off my game so much. Made it harder for me to escalate even when she was giving me positive signals.

On the plus side, when I got home, I had a booty call text from a girl, so the day was not lost.
