Okay so basically I was waiting in line for some free stuff they were handing out and a girl behind me accidentally bumped me with her umbrella, we were outside. She apologized and I took this as an opportunity to open her, she looked kinda cute. We talked a bit while in line, got her name, her major, her year. Basically all the introductory stuff. There were a couple pauses in our conversation but I eventually went for it and asked for her number because I wasn't sure if I was gonna see her again and I wanted to keep talking to her. She gave it to me, we talked a bit more, I got my free stuff after being in the line and departed off after giving my good bye.

Now, we all know numbers don't mean anything. For all I know this girl may be just looking to make more friends and meet new people. I don't want that though and am looking for something more. I realize it's good to be direct at first because it lets you filter through the girls. But I'm on a small campus so I don't want to come across as that guy, like it just really isn't good for my reputation because I'll likely see these girls again at least once a week.

With that being said how should I proceed with this. I know if I ask her out to coffee or whatever she could just come and then half way into the "date" just tell me oh I have a boyfriend, or oh I'm not interested I thought this was just a hang out. So I want to make SURE that I don't fuck this up and just find out straight away if she is interested or not. Tell me seddit, what would you do and what should I do, I have her number and already sent 2 texts regarding the free stuff we got in line. She replied to me and I could follow up with the conversation but it'll eventually die out so how should I proceed.
