Is it a good idea? For example I'm in a dance crew and we recently got some new people in it for the semester, about 6 people to be exact. Our crew isn't that big in general but out of the new people we have there's this girl I'm interested in. Is it a good idea to invite her out and try to work towards a relationship? Or would it be a bad idea because if she doesn't like me I'd be fucked over?
I know that in general it's bad to shit where you eat but here's what I thought of. I would talk with her a bit during practices and after practice I'd ask what she's up to for the next couple days and invite her out. I'm sure she would accept but she may think it's just a hang out. So on the "date" we would talk, vibe, get to know each other and then I'll break it down at some point and say: I like you, but i'm not sure if you like me, and since we're in the same crew together i don't want things to get awkward, so if you wanna just remain friends you can tell me. And depending on what she says I either escalate or back the fuck off and resume as a friendly hang out and just be friends with her so things don't get awkward. Good idea?
