I'm quite new to the pick up game and been doing it for about 3 weeks so far on my campus, strangely my most successful attempts have occurred when I was at my most inexperienced, However with every girl I approach I'm noticing my skills improving but the flake factor still remaining high.

Two days ago I notice this thick Korean chick with a killer body, I couldn't let her slip through without atleast trying. So I approach her with this line.

Me: excuse me miss, do you like money?

Her: "Of course, who dosent?"

Me: (I reply with some witty banter then i say)... Well I want to make a bet with you, If I can't guess your major in 3 tries I'll give you 20 dollars.

Her: "hmm... But what if you CAN guess my major?.

Me: You have to give me your phone number :)

After some more witty banter and persuasion I convince her to play.  I correctly guess her major on the first try, she didn't expect me to get it right but since 85% of the girls at my school major in the same damn thing it wasn't hard at all.

She was a little reluctant to give me her number citing the fact she "dosent normally give her # out" Throughout the entire ordeal she gave off the appearance of having a high interest level. After my first couple of failed pickups I figured I learned quite well to notice the signs of a low-interest level. She did not display any such signs. I made sure to keep the flirting minimal as to not give off a creep-factor, but still display bold confidence and interest in her.

I told her Id prefer to call her but I'll probably text her later since girls these days rarely pick up their phones or return calls. She then said  "oh I'm not one of those girls, I call back :)"

I already knew this was BS and let off a sarcastic, 'yeah.'

Since her class was about to start i decide to cut the convo short, out of consideration and since i heard thats its always best if you end the convo before they do. I definitely wanted to see how far I could push the convo but my 'nice guy' instincts forced me to make a exit not long after having  her put her # in my phone.

Later that night I send her a quick greeting text, with the intention of trying to set up a coffee date on campus afterwards, this was going to be the deciding factor for me if this girl was a flake or not.

Morning comes, then afternoon and still no reply.

At this point I already know things are bleak so I decide to put the nail in the coffin and find out for sure. I call her up and my call is sent to voicemail  after the first ring. Later on I call from my house phone to know if she did screen my call the first time and the call rings for about 5 times.

At this point I know for sure her interest level wasn't what it appeared to be. I was a little confused as to weather I did something wrong or this chick was just an attention whore in disguise.

I did this same routine earlier in the day with another chick, I guessed right on the major but she refused to hand over her #, in a lighthearted way however, so no hard feelings their. Point is though she she made sure to make it evident she wasn't interested early on which garnered my respect. As opposed to waisting my time by leading me on.

So I understand if this Korean chick was good at masking a low interest level, however through her actions all she's done is create a very akward scenario should we cross paths again, which is likely considering my school is small, this could have been avoided If she just refused to give her # in the first place.

Is their a good method for screening chicks early on, during the first convo for flaky behavior, or is it always a matter of rolling the dice and hoping for a payoff?
