Look, high school game is an entirely different kettle of fish to the game often discussed here. Cold approaches will get people talking if they backfire as it is such a limited social pool. Meeting girls in class is somewhat challenging as seating is often stagnant and people are prone to sitting with people they already know.
Here's my suggestion: get involved in activities at school outside of class. Sports, leadership groups, arts etc. They're more suited to making new friends than a stagnant classroom.
If you're keen to get to know someone directly, I'd lead with opinion openers and make it seem coincidental that you've asked them. ie. you're standing near them waiting for class to begin.
I'd also recommended becoming a more social guy in general, if you become chatty with the girls of campus but not the guys - people will start talking. High school is like that.

You nailed it. Im not afraid of rejection, but I go to a small school, so all the girls know each other. Just wierd.

At school its all about connections. Mutual friends are key! Right now you probably have your own set of friends, but if your school is anything like mine friends overlap. You have your own friends but your friends may have friends that you don't know.
Step 1: Be nice and approachable to everyone. As shallow as it is reputation is key in school. Step 2: Find a "group" of friends. Usually every boy group of friends will have a "sister" girl group in which they hang out and date and vice versa. Choose one of these groups. Its hard to meet girls when none of your friends talk to any girls. Step 3. Using your existing friends, start talking to their friends. Step 4. Keep growing closer/talking until they are your friends. Step 5: Once you get into new friend groups you will be introduced to their "girl" group, therefore having more access to girls. Step 6. Rinse and Repeat.
Things to keep in mind: REMEMBER WHERE YOU CAME FROM. Unless its one of those natural, mutual fade-aways in which no feelings are hurt, always have your core group of friends/original friends prioritized over everyone else. Because they will do the same to you(be more loyal, fight for you, defend you making you gossip-proof, go the extra mile, ect). A lot of people will only like you when your life is going well, but you can always fall back on your original friends for support.
Also, make sure to be on talking-basis or at least good terms with a lot of girls before dating. If you only know a couple girls and know them not very well then I would wait on the dating.

Just be yourself and talk. there are lots of steps you have to go through that depends on what do you want from her, or do you like her, you want to be friends with her and etc.. you have a lot to learn..

I think what marvbake mentioned below is some pretty darn good advice on what to say to girls once you've approached them. There are plenty of openers and ideas there to try out. I guess the main way to kick it off is by asking them a question that relates to either a) the situation and your surroundings or b) themselves. Get them talking about something that interest them or that they might be knowledgable about. Smile, and try to get a rise out of them. Chick dig someone that can make 'em laugh!
Main thing to do is practice talking to girls. Doesn't matter if they're average looking or hot. Preferably the hotter the better. The main thing is building your confidence and getting used to it. You'll get better as you go!
