I could use some advice on remembering names.

When you first introduce, repeat their name when you hear it. At the next convenient moment (not during conversation, but when you leave, or they look away, the conversation dies, whatever) take out your phone and open your predetermined note-taking app. I've been using a diary-style app so I have the day that I met her. Write the name and what you talked about, mutual friends, etc. Then put it away and continue what you were doing.

Like all things you write down, it's not actually seeing it again that makes you remember it. Just knowing that you have to keep that name until you write it down, and then writing it down, is actually what helps you remember. Now I can learn multiple names and keep them for a while until I can note them. Good luck

Word association. Make up something silly and unique to identify that person. Ex: Jim = Slim Jim, Terry = Hairy Terry, Joe = Slow Joe et c. This is something I learned in one of my Trainer Classes at work. Don't accidentally say it aloud, but use it to simplify bridging the gap in your mind. It has worked wonders for me.

first off, don't have this mentality that you are bad at remembering names. it just provides support when you allow yourself to forget their names.

try repeating their name and use it in a conversation after they mentioned it. spell it out in your head, do whatever you think can help you learn. figure out how you learn to remember things and use those methods.

if you are consciously try to remember names, you should be fine.

A little trick I learn't is if you forget their name, simply ask them for their name again. They'll be a little upset at first but when they respond just reply with "I meant your last name" a lot more socially acceptable to forget last names

try to say their name at some point, even if it's " it was nice to meet you, xxx" that way it gets put in more parts of your brain since you actually had to say it

Relate it to something some how. Use it as an awesome neg if you want, I do. Ex: I met a girl named becky this weekend and I just said "oooh becky!!! Like the becky who threw up on her desk in 6th grade!!!" Then you have something to relate it too.
