How do I overcome a fear of being perceived as creepy?

You will, at some point, be perceived as a creep. Everyone does. I'm sure you have in the past. Even the best pick up artists in the world do.

The same attitude, words, etc used on different girls will elicit different reactions. One group of girls could think you're the most attractive guy ever and a different group would think you're a huge creep just looking to score.

Just be confident and don't worry about it. Just remember, if she wants to be with you then it doesn't really matter all that much what you say.

Women deal with aggressive, creepy guys all the time. Women will usually forgive you for being too aggressive, but they won't ever forgive you for not being aggressive enough. If they make themselves available to you and you do nothing, you have demonstrated that you are not interested in her, or incapable of doing anything with her.

There is no shame in being a creep. There are a few magic phrases to get yourself out of trouble, like "excuse me" and "I'm sorry." But you should be ashamed if you are a Big Creep. If you make big creepy moves, it is harder to back down. Like if you sit with a woman all night without touching her, and then suddenly you grab her an kiss her, that's "making the big move" and it's creepy. But if you have been continuously becoming more intimate, using "micro-escalations" then you can back off a tiny bit because you have done no more than escalate a tiny bit.

So this is about "calibration." You do not make any big moves, that's creepy and she sees it coming a mile off. You make a continuous series of small moves. That seems natural. And when you hit resistance, it is easier to back off from a small escalation.

You are definitely over thinking it. Everyone comes off as creepy at some point. Be yourself, assert yourself. Stop thinking, start doing.
