Thought I'd share this rather different FR to get some advice!

A little background I got into swing dancing as a way of being more social and ended up becoming the recruiter for the swing dance club I'm in at school. Because of this I got into the community and there are dances at a spot in my city almost every saturday night. Anyway went there expecting to have a great time and ended up dancing with this one girl who said her friend was new and that I should dance with her.

So after I saw her come back in the room and ran up to her and asked her if she wanted to dance after she finished eating. She said yes and then moved some stuff off the seat next to her so I could sit down (First IOI). After we started dancing I could tell it was definitely her first time because she was really struggling. This was actually great because I could let my confidence flow as a took the time to teach her the counts all the while holding her very close. She was loving it and I complimented her shoes which were the stereotypical "I'm an artist who wears these shoes to my studio" type deal and I complimented her on them and her style.

At that moment I smelled a hint of smoke on her breath which allowed me to ask her if she smoked and then to bum a cig off of her to get her alone. We went outside and talked for a bit. Here's where I started putting what I've learned a little more in place. After some small talk about how I really wanted to get a snake, keeping strong eye contact I could tell she was really into me. Enough so that I asked her on the spot, "Hey what are you doing around ten? I'd like to go grab something to eat with you. I think you're really cute." (too abrasive?) Anyway she said, "I definitely would, but I'm supposed to meet a friend at ten." Before I could say anything she whipped out her phone and asked for my number so she could call it so I would have hers. She then asked how old I was to which I replied, "how old do you think I am?" She guessed 21, (people always guess I'm older since I've started dressing nicely). I made her guess a few more times before I told her my actual age (19). I find out she's 23, but I don't care and she goes on to start validating why it doesn't matter.

We go back upstairs, dance again, and then I leave her to dance with some others because I don't want to come across as needy at all. She ends up leaving to meet her friend and around 12:00 that night I text her my name, "Hey HB7 it's PuddiPuddip!" She doesn't reply, but I'm not worried about it.

Alright so here is the weird thing. I was extremely confident that this girl was definitely into me. Like very very into me to the point where I thought she would be hitting me up as soon as I texted her. I know this is AFC status and I should just ignore it, but I had a lot of attraction to this girl so it's kind of a disappointment. Although I am happy that the gaming went so well for me being so new. It's Monday now and I still haven't heard from her, but I'm planning on calling her Thursday.

TDLR: Swing danced with new girl, escalated, isolated, asked out to eat, denied because of logistics, # close but she never hit me up.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated, but other then that hope you enjoyed the FR.
