You know its gonna come off a little weird that you're just now building the courage as I'm assuming the semester/quarter is finishing up which she will pick up on, but doesn't completely rule you out. I've done this with a few girls and success varies. Your best bet next time is to slowly build rapport throughout the weeks. If you're at all like me, I always seem to wait til the class is nearly finished because I'm afraid of how awkward class will be if you are rejected.
