What alpha is

Leadership is certainly one alpha trait. Being a leader of men defines the Alpha. However, TRP is about sexual strategy so I define Alpha, Beta and Omega:

Alpha: Whatever gets them wet- confident, leadership, dominance, and yah a strong man that others follow.

Beta: Helping and relationship builders that don't give the tingles but may be necessary in a LTR.

Omega: Supplicating, suffocating, helpless behavior.

It's probably a bad start to base alpha-ness off of other people's feelings about you. Just sayin'

Maybe something more like being alpha is being a person that doesn't seek the validation/approval of others?

Many people have their own definition of being a Alpha, to me a Alpha is one who goes his own way and doesn't give to pressure and of course doesn't play along with the BS of women and chase tail like a bluepill.

"Alpha" doesn't exist.

The only reason the term even exists in the popular lexicon is because of a some now thoroughly debunked junk science published by Rudolph Schenkel, an animal behaviorist. He studied captive wolves and decided that each pack had an "alpha" wolf which the others were all subordinate to. However, as time and peer review marched on, what animal behaviorists began to realize is that the whole concept was horse shit. There are no alpha wolves in the wild. If such a creature exists at all, it's a temporary condition which you only find among captive wolves.

Among humans, you can find alpha males in jails and prisons, but it's worth pointing out that their power can only exist because A: they've already been ostracized by the people in society who wield meaningful power, and B: their power dissolves the instant they leave the jail or the prison. It's a temporary condition which can only exist within the confines of captivity.

The whole TRP concept of an Alpha Male is an intellectual construct, and as such, it only means whatever the person saying it thinks it means.

There is no universal definition because no such creature actually exists.

Now, that isn't to say the term, and the concept itself, can't be useful. But be very careful in the way you use or employ the term, in thought or in speech; it's important to remember that you're talking about a type of human being who, strictly speaking, doesn't exist.

There is no "alpha male" among humans, any more than there's an "average person". It's an intellectual construct only useful in thought experiments.
