She was cute and I decided I wanted her.

Please stop thinking like this. Girls aren't property. They don't belong to you and you don't belong to them. Thinking that you're gonna "get" a girl is just going to lead to heartbreak when another guy comes along and she gets interested in him. Be nice, talk to everybody, and if mutual attraction exists, enjoy your time with her, but don't think about "getting" her.

How do you recover from a mistake and still remain confident and attractive?

Oh man. You really fucked yourself. You can send another text "explaining" what you meant, but damnit son you may have to just wait this one out.
