I just had an idea an hour or so ago. Try to work on my "out of state" self. Tell me if this makes sense.
I am a big fan of RSD material. They have mentioned if you go out drunk and game you're just working on your drunk personality.
Julien mentions it in this video
The majority of this post is about this video. He talks about that struggle people have of "if I just have one drink I can get in state" which just works on your drunk personality.
So would the same apply for working only on your in state self? The main thing I got from this video was to "find pleasure in the pain" and "go against your emotion" which I almost never do. Here recently if I even don't feel like asking a stranger a regular question or giving a general compliment, I force myself to do it and go against the emotions telling me not to.
What I typically do is wait until I am in state to approach and it's like night and day when I make that transition and snap into state.
Sometimes, however, I can't get myself into state. There was even a time where I was at a bar, out of state, and got a real quick make out and I was still very stifled and stuck in my head. I did karaoke with my friends that night and as I was dancing I could feel myself holding back from being in the moment and letting go! Typically when I get a make out, or even a positive response, everything is good the rest of the night. But I remember as I was making out with her I was thinking in my head "GET IN STATE! GET IN STATE!" and it was hilariously frustrating. BTW that was a pretty lucky out of state make out. That typically doesn't happen, but that's the most success I've had out of state and it still didn't get me in state.
So I feel like there is too much of a gap between my in state self and out of state self. Another bad thing about this is if I meet a girl while I am in state and see her again when I am not in state, I can feel the difference in attraction and my vibe is off.
When I approach out of state I feel like it is just hurting my self esteem from the rejections and weird interactions, which keeps me from approaching very often. I am going to reframe my mind from "Wait until I am in state" >>> "Work on your out of state self"
And I also feel like this is core confidence. It's like when you game at the same place you have that situational confidence and going to an unfamiliar place makes you stronger.
TL;DR Similar to working on your sober personality, I want to try and approach more when I am out of state in hopes to build up my out of state self.
