Yes! Last Sunday (February 16 2014), I told myself that I am simply going to focus on confidence and my body posture, and pretty much this whole week I have been feeling great and people has been noticing how much more confident and awesome I have been. This really does work from my own experience, and I highly recommend to everyone reading this to focus on posture for confidence.

I had something like that happen to myself this week as well. Some brief info about myself: I'm 21 with a beard so I suppose that may be a potential reason as well. What happened was I was at school (community college) walking in to the library so that I could work on my Calculus homework. As I was walking in, a couple girls were coming from the opposite direction and I allowed them to go first. One of the girls then said to me "Oh, pardon me, sir." This caught me off guard as I may be a year or two older than her at the most. Back to what you were saying, I believe that body language plays a significant part in what you construe to those around you.

After going to the gym for about a month and a half i was walking taller, back straight and automatically felt way more confident.

There some science to this too, which has been posted somewhere on seddit. If your body language is more confident, you will be more confident, if you smile in the mirror, you will be more happy.

I don't know how long the effect lasts or how long it takes until you feel a difference, but there is something to faking it.

I completely agree! I'm only 21, but the way I compose myself and talk make me appear to be much older, in my mind at least. But once it's adopted into my mind, it shows to everyone else.
