Look bud, if a girl tells you at the end of a date that she just wants to be friends. Forget everything else she told you. It's something my father once told me. Trust me, in most cases if a girl was into you, there was chemistry, you wouldn't have had that conversation. I've had plenty of relationships with a shelf life of less than 6 months. I'm betting that so has she.

So, stop getting hung up on how a girl is rejecting you, and do something about changing that. You're focusing on the wrong issue here.

"I am a nice guy." Yeah, stop telling yourself that. You're giving yourself a victim mentality. As to being a gentleman, you're probably creating an image of impotence. The difference between a platonic friend and a potential partner is sexual tension. You have to create it. Being a gentleman doesn't prevent this, but something tells me that you don't get it.
