So far, the advice here sucks.

First, you should feel pretty good where you are at now. She was friendly and has agreed to see you.

Second, the past. It's not "past" in that in has no meaning. Rather, you dominated in this girl in that mock trial. She may have been upset at the time, but you probably established some alpha cred in the process. As Roissy reminds people, gina tingles are born in a defensive crouch. Like it or not, it is often true.

Third, go have your coffee and be friendly but more importantly, fun. Joke, tease, etc. Get her talking about herself, bust her chops in a fun way, and, crucially, have a second place lined up to go. Thirty minutes and bounce to something different. Walk in the park, ice-cream, bar, don't matter. Show her a good time.

Fourth, at the end, ask her out on a "real" date. "I'm going to [a show] on Tuesday, you should come." Tell her what you are doing and invite her along... Don't ask, just offer.

And don't be a douche and forget to kiss her. Dammit

Don't bring it up. It was a mock trial, it is not like you punched her in the face.

If she brings it up, say hey listen that was many years ago, let's forget the past and talk about the present.

If you make it a big deal, she will make it a big deal.
