Hello everyone, mostly a lurker here, might be my first post.

I am at the end of my 20s and just moved to Northern San Diego the other day and went out with some friends. I decided that I wanted to try to make new friends and meet people since I don't know anyone. Normally I will not talk to girls I don't know. It creates a lot of anxiety and I really feel like going into it that I will fail. Yesterday I broke through. I saw a girl who I was attracted to, usually I talk myself out of it. This time, after several attempts of wanting to talk to her, but walking back to my friends (literally I walked half the bar length at least 3 times, going back and forth making this Z pattern). Got enough courage to get myself on the seat next to her. I think I kind of startled her either with the loud and fast "Hi!" or the clear fear expressed in my face, but whatever it was we talked for a little bit, and then her friend started asking me questions. It felt more like an interrogation though. Eventually this girl got up and said she had somewhere to go = rejection.
But That initiation got me going, the rest of the night I began talking to different attractive women (again something I NEVER DO) and started having a little success, but more of okay I can keep doing this. I talked to at least 5 women. got a phone number, one that just looked at me and turned away, and a couple of rejections. BUT the best all night, was this girl who I never would have talked to. We had an amazing conversation, eye contact the whole time, and it really brought my spirits up (unfortunately this girl is moving to NY). I am going to ride this wave and continue challenging myself. For anyone in San Diego that wants to hangout let me know!
