So I finished sophomore year last semester. I didn't have sex with anyone, I didn't particularity meet any new people, and I didn't do good academically.
Here's what I did, I went out once or twice every weekend to a bar or random house parties. The problem is though I only get invited to parties where everyone knows everyone, as such the "social hierarchy" has been constructed and I'm at the bottom. These parties always have, I shit you not a 5:1 girl to guy ratio. Girls have no interest coming home with me even though I'm relatively good looking. It's whatever though I still went.
I approached alot more than Freshman year. I did hookup/k-close probably around 8 girls but only at random parties/concerts/high-energy nightclubs which my friends rarely go to. Still I've had sex only once during the past two years.
I started going to the gym last semester and since then packed on 16 pounds of muscle.
I joined the ski club and gymnastics club, but nothing socially came out of it.
I'm majoring in Computer Science and actually very much like what I'm learning. However it's hard and alot of work, only 10% of the initial 1000 kids admitted are expected to graduate. I'm currently part of that 10%. After last semester though focusing on being social rather than work, my grades slipped. I feel conflicted on one hand I feel as though I'm missing out socially but I cant justify failing my major just to chase pussy.
There's no right or wrong answer. At least I'm putting myself out there but the cost is that my grades suck. To be honest I feel a little trapped going to the same house parties, surrounded by the same people who I don't really like, not able to branch out and meet new people despite trying. Then I feel guilty about not spending my time focusing on school rather than play. I guess I'm just looking for some advice from people who've been in the same position.
