It's useful to know. A lot of people -- myself included -- hate phone calls. I try to avoid them whenever humanly possible. They're intrusive and they take up too much time. Texts, on the other hand, allow for an extended conversation while you go out and live your life. It takes a few seconds to check and respond to a text message, then I can go about whatever I was doing. As a bonus, if you text back and forth over the course of several days, it keeps you fresh in her mind.

And never underestimate the power of a sext for keeping things sexually charged. A lot of girls will openly talk about stuff through text that they would normally be too shy to talk about in person.

You're splitting hairs here. Texting her to ask her for drinks IS text game. To the extent that game translates to text, it adapts to the limitations of text. Sticking to logistics is usually a solid tactic, and texting enough to establish that you are a human who can pass the Turing Test is also important.

Though arguably, text game isn't about trying to become some girl's pen pal, sexting, or holding long text conversations. Unless we want to be discussing shitty game.
