They speak a different language here and I've never been good at speaking it. Ive read a lot that if you find someone you want to meet you go say "hi, I thought you were cute and wanted to talk to you" or something like that to start the conversation. I know how to say that in their language but my pronunciation is pretty bad, i sound pretty retarded and it doesn't sound casual at all in this language. This is not a confidence issue; I've had friends tell me that I suck at speaking the language, I'm just being a realist. My point is I don't think it's a good idea to introduce myself in their language because I feel like I will come off as weird? What do you guys think? My other option is introducing myself in English but the problem is I've tried this before I kid you not the girl said "what" in their language like 8 times before she noticed I was speaking English. The problem is I don't look like a foreigner so they expect me to speak their language. I'm stumped at what to do, does anyone have a similar experience that they can share or some solid advice?
