Posted this in spanish. here is the english version.

I was pondering a situation I found myself in. I am a university student and a couple weeks ago I met a girl I would like to ask out. She is extremely cute but I have never heard of anyone going after her. I think she is so cute that men are scared to even try for fear of rejection. I was one of these guys. I would admire her and talk to her but I was scared to try for anything more because of fear that my friends would make fun of me should I be rejected.

But I have come to the realization. This is a bigger issue than what it seems to be on the surface. Its an issue about how we want to live our lives. Do we want to be mediocre? Do we want to be average? Do we want to live our lives in fear and constantly wondering what would’ve happened had I taken a risk? Not me. Whatever happens, I want to know I tried. I want to know I had the bravery, courage, and confidence to ask her out. While everyone else admires her and fantasizes about her, I will be making my fantasies realities. Even if I get rejected and everyone makes fun of me, I will be happy, because I had the guts to try.
