To some it's not about being the nice guy and not pursuing it, it's not wanting to waste time on girls like that. If you really want a girl that cheats on their boyfriend or husband then I think that's just a representation of the kind of guy you are. I've been that guy before and I'm not proud of it, but at the time I felt like king shit. The girl has a choice to stay with their bf/husband even if you say they're not treating them right at home, because you don't know that. If it was really that bad they should choose to get out of that relationship.

Would you want some guy pursuing your gf while she was out and you were at home even after she told the guy she had a bf?

So how do I go about telling the difference between "I have a boyfriend" and "I have a boyfriend"?

I tend to take their word for it, so when a girl mentions her boyfriend I figure that she's rejecting me one way or another. But I see your point that in many cases it could be that the girl wants you to take her, for whatever reason. So how can you tell whether the girl is just going to restrict herself (say) to dirty dancing and will never proceed further than that, or whether she is interested in going much further.

I was dancing with a girl a couple of weeks ago, lots of IOIs, and when I was going to kiss her she mentioned her bf. It didn't feel like she was rejecting me, so I continued dancing with her for 5-10 minutes and I isolated her and tried to kiss her again, but she brought up the bf again. So I guess I wasted my time. How do I avoid this, how can I tell the difference?
