Fuck. My natural friend hooked up with a girl I was interested. I try not to react, but last night was just "ugh". How do some of you deal with this? [Story from last night]

A) It's the lady's call, you gotta respect that.

B) you chose to get in a taxi with them. Be a man and say "I'm doing my own thing." Don't put yourself in that situation.

C) good on you for leaving.

(Most) Everyone gets jealous, it sucks, it feels like shit. Rite of passage. If he wants to talk say "hey, I was digging on that girl. She's not my girlfriend or anything so by all means congrats, but I didn't want to stick around and I figured you'd enjoy your privacy."

It sucks, everyone has those nights, and you move on.

Yeah you're coming from a scarcity mindset, but you're also orienting yourself with the result and are fixing yourself on an outcome. These concepts are all similar, but they articulate the point in different ways.

I've had similar shit happen to me dozens of times. There are guys that are better with girls than you and there are girls that just don't want to sleep with you that badly. When you run into these situations you can experience anything from little pangs of negative emotion to a "ruined" night. With more experience you will have less and less emotional breakdowns.

Take this as lesson. Embrace the pain and let the negative emotion chip away at your ego. I love feeling hurt and embarrassed in the field because I know it's going to make me into a confident, outcome-independent, process-oriented badass. Negative emotion is such an important part of learning pickup.

Not going out with your friend again would be the typical crybaby loser thing to do. If you actually want to get good at this learn from your mistakes and learn from people that have the kind of success that you want.

Hate to say it but if she shacked up that quickly with him theres a good chance you read the signals wrong and she was never really interested in you. Its like this one time I was in high school. My best friend was all about this girl and would constantly talk about the progress he was making with her etc. I meet said girl in a social setting (with my friend present) and she was totally all over me making my friend really jealous. The next day he was upset because 'I stole his girl' but the reality is she was never his to begin with. Sorry you had a bad night (as rejection is never fun) but theres plenty more women out there.
