Within the first 20 minutes of meeting them and conversing you should start making intent moderately clear. Do not by any means be aggressive or blatant. Just little teases. That is just how I see. I know plenty of people do the other approach I just feel that it can be misconstrued and taken as kinda creepy. Plus chances are by day 2 your in the FRIENDZONE. Just my .02. Context of meeting is also very important. Some situations an indirect approach is better. Such as dating someone whom is in your circle of friends or is close to someone in you circle of friends.

Direct game is what is considered best. that means you state your intent upfront. indirect is where you kinda hide your intent for a wile (i don't really know it)

generally speaking direct is considered better for several reasons: saves time, more genuine, more likely to have a connection.

you might not be hitting on them well. your not supposed to put girls on a pedestal, supplicate, or like shower them in complements.
