Gf of 2.5 yrs moved away this month to start school, so now we're long distance. I decided to no-contact-zone her to try to get the upper-hand since she seemed to be losing attraction (as per http://heartiste.wordpress.com/2009/11/23/the-easiest-way-to-revive-a-flagging-relationship/ ). So at this point it's been no contact for about a week and a half.

Today I got a call from her mom giving me a brief update on how her move went, how her classes are going, and telling me that a good friend of her's died on Tuesday (he was fairly old and sick but this happened sooner than expected).

Anyway I'm not sure how to respond to this situation. When I spoke with her mom on the phone briefly I just acted normal as if nothing was up. I assume, however, that she must have asked her mom to call me, and her mom is going to tell her about speaking with me. So I guess this is her way of trying to get me to call her?

My initial instinct is to keep her in the no-contact-zone and wait for her to call me, but then what do I do if she calls and presses me as to why I didn't call her after her mom told me her friend died?
